Welcome to 常悦素食 Happy Vegetarian Restaurant, a delightful haven for lovers of plant-based cuisine in the heart of Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Nestled conveniently behind the Chinese Temple on Lot 1768, Jalan Kemajuan, this cozy eatery has been capturing the hearts of both locals and visitors alike with its extensive array of vegetarian and vegan delights.
Upon stepping into Happy Vegetarian Restaurant, you are greeted by a calming atmosphere that invites you to unwind and enjoy a nourishing meal. The friendly staff enhances the experience with their warm hospitality, ensuring you feel right at home. Customer reviews consistently highlight the restaurant's delicious offerings, with many praising the generous spread of dishes available. For just RM9.50, you can savor a scrumptious plate of mixed rice, featuring fresh vegetables and flavorful mock meats, all crafted with care and passion.
The true highlight of the dining experience is the remarkable selection of dishes, ranging from traditional favorites to innovative culinary creations. Patrons like Chee Ho Wong highly recommend the mutton curry, sweet and sour belly meats, and deep-fried oyster mushrooms, all lovingly prepared to bring out the best in vegetarian cuisine. The use of high-quality ingredients, such as long-grain rice, speaks volumes about the restaurant's commitment to quality.
While Christopher Kumaran points out the lively atmosphere, which tends to get a bit noisy during peak hours, he wisely advises visiting before noon or early evening for a more tranquil dining experience. Whether you choose to come for lunch or dinner, arriving early is key—especially during the bustling first or fifteenth of the lunar month when dishes fly off the counter.
Another customer, Raja Shazrin Shah, praised the ample portions, stating that even small dishes like the lion's mane mushroom in bitter sauce and the Homeland bean curd can comfortably serve two. The value for money here is exceptional, making it a must-visit for both vegetarians and curious food enthusiasts alike.
With an ever-evolving menu that accommodates various tastes and preferences, 常悦素食 Happy Vegetarian Restaurant has undoubtedly carved out a niche for itself as one of the top vegetarian spots in Kuala Terengganu. Whether you're a seasoned vegetarian or just looking to explore the vibrant world of plant-based dining, this restaurant promises an unforgettable culinary journey. Stop by and discover why it has become a cherished landmark among food lovers in the community.

Good food and service. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. A bit noisy. If you prefer a peaceful environment I recommend arriving before 12pm for lunch and 6pm for dinner.

This is one of the best two vegetarian restaurants available in Kuala Terengganu. Mostly come for their mixed rice during lunch. Plenty of selections from pure vegetable based or mock meats choices in different cooking styles. Almost all dishes are delicious (as long as the boss were in charge for the cooking in the kitchen that day). Personally recommend the mutton curry, sweet and sour belly meats, deep fried osyter mushrooms and soup. Price is reasonable, foc drinking water. Parking usually is not difficult to find. Be there earlier during lunch or the dishes are flying off the plate fast especially during 1st or 15th day of the lunar month. Usually closed on Saturday.

It's kinda hidden place but it's worthy for vegetarian. All kind of vegetarian food with economic price at lunch time. You can order special food at dinner time with reasonable price. It's one of the three vegetarian restaurant you can find in the town. By the way, brown rice is serve too if you go ealier at lunch time.

We called before getting a Grabcar here. Considering that everything else looks closed or about to close, we were thrilled to find this place. The lion's mane mushroom in bitter sauce waspriced at RM13.90 for small and the Homeland bean curd was RM12.90 for small. The portion was plenty for two of us to share with plain white rice. They used high quality long grain rice which was really nice. A five star rating for sure. Will come back to try more dishes if I had the chance.
